Good morning!

I woke up at 7:30, got out of bed by 8 a.m., and got most of my chores done. It's now 9:10 on the dot; 1/4 of my chicken broth is freezing (I really should order more 1-cup silicone molds), dinner is thawing, and the last load of laundry is spinning away. I still need to put away the dishes and give my kitchen floor a quick vacuum.

I had initially decided to work today; however, I'm playing hooky, and after lunch I'll head to my bestie's house instead. We're going to gab, cook and/or bake, and have a grand ole time while they menfolk head out for a drink.
There's just something wonderful about spending a day with a friend. I never thought my introverted self would welcome such an extroverted person as a best friend, but Trisha is wonderful. She's got to be the sweetest, most caring person I've ever met. We joke that she 'forced' me to be friends with her because I'm so happy being a hermit and didn't realize how much I was missing real social interaction. Trish has been one of the best things to happen to my life.

As I sit here, I'm collecting my thoughts on what else needs to be done today.
Around 11, I need to pick up a plant that is in need of saving. I've recently become 'that' old lady. I'm leaving behind the caring-for-kids era and entering the caring-for-plants era instead. I have several outdoor plants I need to repot indoors, which also means I need to get a proper lamp for my grow lights so my little green babies can stay healthy over the winter. Poor Mister, he has no idea what's coming.
I decided a few months ago I'm done 'losing' my babies. My kids are all grown and either moved out and married or very quickly heading that way; both of my sweet fur babies have passed in the last two years. I'm done. I want something I can care for that can't die of cancer or can't up and move about because they've matured and want a life of their own. (The audacity!) So plants it is!!

I realized I can keep a plant alive after keeping the peace lily from Mister's granny's funeral four to five years ago. Peace lilies are notoriously finicky, and this one has thrived through my learning stages.
So that's going to be my day. Doing plant things and hanging out with friends. I really can't think of anything better to do.
What are your plans for the day?
