Thankful Thursday: My Husband Loves Me

 This week I am thankful

For a husband who loves me no matter what.

Even when my brain gets my mouth into trouble, and I say hurtful things unintentionally. In a misguided and failed attempt at being sarcastic/fuuny to encourage him to stick to his diet, I said something hurtful. I immediately felt horrible because, had he said the same to me, I'd have been really hurt. I love this man to pieces and never want to hurt him. Thankfully, he's forgiven me. And I vow to be more mindful of the words I use.

For the end of summer weather

I am sick of 00-degree weather and hot, dry winds. We have just a few more days of high temperatures, and then it's finally going to start cooling off. If I can just hold on a tiny bit longer

For Halloween time

It really is my favorite holiday; it has been for as long as I can remember. I love the spooky side of the season and enjoy decking out my yard and house in all its glory. Yet I can't stand a haunted house, go figure.  As we set up the guys below, I got the best compliment from a neighbor down the way about how creepy the yard was looking. Made my night!

For my 'baby' brother

We haven't always been the closest (not distant, just busy, ya know), but he's family, and I love him. We've been talking/texting a lot more over the last year, and I've enjoyed our growing relationship. After Dad passed, I was really worried our sibling relationship would fizzle even more, but the opposite is happening. I love having someone who gets my childhood-trauma-dark-twisted sense of humour. I'm insanely proud of the man, husband, and father he's become.

My sister-in-law and baby brother

For my health

As I struggle with my tingling hand and standard sore back I sometimes get caught up in the woe-is-me mindset. But my health is really good, and I need to be more thankful for that. So many suffer from really poor health to debilitating diseases. My small aches are nothing compared to that.
