Monday Going Ons

It's been a long but good day.

I hit the ground 'running' this morning by starting lunch around 9:30. I cooked the Vension Rogan Josh for lunch today so Ms H and her boyfriend could have some before they had to head out.  That meant starting early; the venison needed a minimum of two hours to simmer at a low heat, making my house smell like heaven.

Everyone enjoyed the Rogan Josh, even Mister, who was sceptical about a venison curry. I made it a bit spicier than I usually would, and Ms H's only comment was that one of the spice flavors overpowered the dish. I fully believe it was the cayenne I added to spice it up. Next time I do it, I'll have to tinker with it more.

After lunch, I cleaned the kitchen and headed to my physical therapy appointment.  It was a good session today. A few weeks ago, I somehow managed to aggravate a nerve in my right shoulder area. It got to the point that even sitting in bed typing would make the side of my hand start to go numb. My PT has been working on strengthening my shoulder muscles and getting me a wider range of motion. With her careful instruction and wonderful massages, my hand is no longer tingling every time I bend my elbow or raise my arm. And even better, the massive knot between my spine and shoulder blade isn't as debilitating.

I have two more sessions to go.  I'm kind of happy about it and kind of sad; I really enjoy the TENS unit and heat therapy that wraps up each session.

Mister will be happy to see them end; it's costing us $110 a session, which is pretty steep, but he's also really happy to see me not in pain or stressed because my hand is going numb all the time.

On the way home, Ms H called to see if I'd pick up some milk to go with the cookies she and Snoopy (her boyfriend) made. Of course I said yes... what kind of monster would I be to deny us the second most important part of milk and cookies!?!

And let's face it, folding a load of laundry is always made better when you start off with milk and cookies.

During the time it took to cook lunch and do the laundry, I wrapped up The Olympian Affair by Jim Butcher. It's the second part of his Cinder Spires. I am truly enjoying this series so far. The best character is a cat named Rowl; he's just as spicy and sassy as you'd expect an old tomcat to be.

I'm hoping Butcher will release the third part soonish. Although there doesn't seem to be any official word out yet.

Well, it's getting later than I wanted it to be as I wrap this up. I need to figure out a way to get my posts out just a touch earlier than 10pm. I'm getting old, and well, it's past my bedtime.
